My name is Luke Griffiths, I am a 22-year-old graphic designer from Wrexham North Wales. I graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons degree in graphic design from the University of Bolton in June of 2021 and have gone on to work as a Junior Graphic Designer at Practice Plan since October 2021. My passion for design started in 2017 when I learned about the role a graphic designer plays in so many parts of our daily lives. I studied Art at GCSE level and then moved on to study A level Photography in which I achieved a B grade, and AS Level Art in which I also received a B grade, but it wasn't until I began to look at my options for University courses that I found out about the field of graphic design and what a designers role actually is. After this I fell in love with graphic design. I loved every minute of my 3-year course at the University of Bolton and it has allowed me to discover what I feel is my purpose.
I am an extremely driven person, always looking for ways I can improve myself and my work, and I think my greatest strength is my ability to learn quickly. I like to find new techniques or hobbies and really throw myself into learning them from the ground up, and nothing gives me more pleasure than perfecting a new skill. I want to work within the design industry because It gives me joy to see my creative output being used by others and to see others appreciate that work, whether that be a logo design, packaging design, clothing design or anything at all that I create.
As well as graphic design I also have a passion for music. I am a massive fan of modern rock and EDM music in particular, I have also played the guitar since I was 10 and have been in bands since I was 13. Music influences my design work and vice versa, and I often find that the variation in the music that I am listening to at any one time might affect the style of the designs I am producing and the direction that my creativity leads me in.
I also love to immerse myself in the world of fashion. I am a big follower of sneaker culture, and love to keep up with brands and designers that inspire me to produce my own design work, such as Tekashi Murakami, Virgil Abloh, and Sean Stussy to name a few. In my relatively short time since graduating, I have been lucky enough to work with a small clothing brand locally and produce designs with them on a freelance basis and this has led to me attempting to start my own line of clothing to find another vehicle for my design work to get out into the world.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and for looking at the work I have produced so far
