After leaving the band in late 2021 to focus more on my university studies and freelance graphics work I was beginning to pick up, Sleeping Together kindly asked me to support them with their logo and initial song releases.
Formed over Facetime, Sleeping Together emerged out of the other side of lockdown to bring big beats, catchy riffs and good vibes back to the Indie scene. The band officially started ‘Sleeping Together’ in late 2022, just before the release of their debut single ‘Summer Girl’. Representing the North-West, the band consists of Alexander Lloyd-Jones (Vocalist), Jason Javier Dominguez (Drums), Ryan Williams (Bass Guitar) and Mike Corry (Lead Guitar).
The first task was to create a logo for the band. Alex (lead singer) had asked me to come up with something that was based on a range of influences he provided. From favourite bands such as the strokes, the1975 among others, to films and TV that he enjoyed, all to provide a backdrop of where the band wanted to be, and what feeling they wanted to evoke in their audience.
The result was a clean logotype which played off of the word together by using negative kerning to produce something that the band was extremely pleased with. The logo speaks volumes about the band. Sleek, sophisticated, playful and modern.
All characteristics of not only the band but the music they produce.
Once the logo design was finalised I began work on cover designs for their debut trio of releases. 'Summer Girl' was the band's first release and after getting interest from both Radio X and Calon.FM, the band saw the single gain over 10,000 streams in the first month alone. The cover was created alongside a music video featuring the same girl and screams of summer and warm weather. The band wanted it to feel like the cover of a movie rather than just a song and I think I achieved that perfectly.
The second single released was 'Money and Nicotine'. Again garnering attention from Radio X's John Kennedy, the band showed another string to their musical bow and again I was asked to produce the cover for the single. The band wanted the cover to give off the aura of the backstreets, and all of the unknown pleasures that await just around the corner.
And finally, the cover for the as-yet-unreleased 'Time to Reflect'. 'Sex sells' was the brief provided by Alex, and we kept the core nice and minimal whilst being suggestive and provocative to fulfil that request.

Big things to come from these guys and it's a pleasure to be along for the ride.
